MINOR THREATS
Across the country more and more cases of violent, deviant, or malicious acts against children are surfacing. This past September, sheriff’s deputies in Lusby, Maryland, found the corpses of two young girls stuffed in a freezer while they were investigating a child-abuse claim. The mother of the two girls is being held without bond for the abuse of her third daughter. A Seattle couple was recently charged when it was discovered they were withholding food and water from their 14-year-old daughter. When authorities discovered the girl, she weighed just 40 pounds. And then there are numerous stories of unplanned pregnancies that end in the murder of a newborn. The Erie area has not been able to avoid this growing phenomenon.
